Collaboration at MVZ

On the whole an interdisciplinary approach is required for the field of medical genetic diagnostics and consultation. At the MVZ Dr. Eberhard & Partner Dortmund diagnostic problems with a genetic background can be tackled on an interdisciplinary level, because the entire spectrum of laboratory analytics including the haematology, oncology, haemostaseology, and endocrinology sectors are represented in the MVZ. This means that the patient is given comprehensive results and reliable statements on their diagnosis and further treatment following a human genetics consultation with resulting analytics.

A range of endocrinological diseases such as porphyrias, multiple endocrine neoplasias etc. can be linked to genetic causes. We work in close collaboration with the endocrinology department in our MVZ when diagnosing endocrinological symptoms. The MVZ also provides the necessary course of treatment for patients with endocrinological diseases.

Medical Genetics at MVZ Dr. Eberhard & Partner Dortmund also conducts molecular and cytogenetic testing for the paediatrics sector. If the human genetic analyses of children or adolescents reveal results that necessitate paediatric endocrinological treatment, further treatment can be carried out in the Hormonzentrum für Kinder & Jugendliche im Triagon Dortmund.

There is close cooperation in the diagnostics and therapeutic sectors for example of genetically caused metabolic disorders, growth and development disorders, sexual differentiation disorders, syndromes such as Klinefelter’s, Marfan and others.
